This is a rich, full flavoured Chardonnay with over 3 years maturation before release. The palate is deliciously well rounded with a smooth creamy texture, complex nutty flavours and toasty oak characteristics. Hints of vanilla sweetness add to the balance and sophistication. It is enjoyable drinking now and will continue to deliver over the next two to three years.

The appearance is medium to deep straw. It’s bright and youthful with subtle yellow notes giving an indication of body weight and maturation.
The initial aroma is fruit forward with sweet vanilla spice followed by roast cashews and toasty oak progressing to caramel and buttery, baked shortbreads and a fragrant lift of citrus marmalade.
On entry the palate has stone fruits, figs and honeydew melon followed by vanilla cream, cashew and hazelnuts. The rich buttered toast and creamy pastry flavours are balanced by a savoury belt of tangy preserved lemon and quince paste. The finish is long and dry with subtle oak and musky spice on the aftertaste.
Lightly chilled, this full bodied, creamy chardonnay is well suited to hearty, flavoursome dishes like lobster thermidor, roast chicken or vindaloo curry. It’s a very versatile, food friendly wine that can be paired with the most sophisticated dishes like Foie gras or cheese souffle to humble favourite’s like pasta carbonara or cheese toasties.
With two and a half years cellar aging and further time in bottle before release, this chardonnay is ready to drink now. It will comfortably cellar for longer and continue to deliver enjoyable drinking. Serve lightly chilled for the best experience.
